When someone walks into your home, the first thing they notice is the entryway. So I thought I’d create a post on those who have the question ‘how do you dress up an entryway?’. I will be covering different things you can add to create a bright welcoming and clutter free entryway.

Rug

I think a lovely patterned entryway rug is a great welcome to any guest. If you have floors and want to soften the space up then a rug is a great option.

Lighting

Having a bright light space helps you move around easily and just sets the mood for the rest of your home. When stepping into your home a plain old light bulb is not very exciting to look at..A lovely chandelier can bring some brightness as well as adornment into the entryway.

Coat stand

Entryways can be super small and small spaces are easily cluttered. One way to curb this is to lift everything off the floor and onto the walls. A lovely coat stand or even some wall hooks can be great to alleviate clutter.

Stool

For those of you thinking well ‘what can i do with a small entryway?’. Well instead of purchasing a storage bench you can opt for a storage stool and that can do the trick: small, compact and decorative. You can style it with a plant to bring some green energy or just leave it be.

Mirror

I always wondered why whenever I see entryways there’s always a grand mirror up on the wall and well the answer is a mirror makes a room look more open and bright and for entryways that’s great because they are the smallest areas compared to the rest of the home.

So there you have it: some ideas for dressing up your home’s entryway while also addressing the issue of having a small space. I think adding the smallest thing into your entryway can make a big difference!
